When the wait is the purpose because the wait is the process, the journey is the process.

We often think of waiting as just that. Sitting and waiting. But God Plays Chess Backwards. The wait is the journey of movement.

The waiting is the process

Waiting is exactly the same as the Lord saying “walk that way”. Just without the walking part. He’s still saying “go that way”

Because our eyes are on what we want. What we hope for. Even what he’s promised us or spoken to us. We often focus so hard on that point on the horizon of life that we don’t realize the world around us is changing. We don’t realize the daily steps we are taking that are changing US.

The journey of waiting can be anything...

• Could be launching your own business.
• Could be finding that husband or wife you long for.
• Could be finalizing that divorce.
• Could be ending cancer treatment.
• Could be a promotion.
• Could be seeing someone’s pain end.
• Could be ending the constant custody struggles.
• Could be seeing your child find freedom from the past hurts.
• Maybe he’s waiting for you to slow down and stop.
• Maybe he’s waiting for you to stop sitting and waiting, and instead start moving.

So stop an take a moment. Look at yourself, while you are sitting there and waiting. Have you changed while you were waiting? Have you realized things? Have you done things differently? Have your opinions changed?

Things are changing, we are changing. Even while we wait upon the Lord.
