The One Or In The Lane?
There is a difference between:
- Being the one
and
- Being in your lane
You see The Lord has a purpose for you. But that doesn't necessarily make you the best. And it also doesn't make you the most important. It just means that The Lord has made you with a purpose and you need to find and be in that lane.
Because that is what god created you for.
Your lane
Now you might ask. What is "a lane" or "your lane"? Well it's kinda like driving. There are lots of cars on the road. And there are multiple lanes for the cars to be in. That's a lot like living life. Except the road is billions of lanes, not 2 or 3 lanes. And there are billions of cars on the road alongside you.
Finding your lane is like putting a puzzle together. Where the pieces fit together to make a picture. Your lane is not the same as anyone else's lane. It's your lane. It's the one that The Lord has made for you, and made you for.
And this is the most important part. You're lane is your lane. Don't compare it to other people's lanes. It doesn’t matter whether your purpose is to help 1 person or 1 million people. You have your own lane.
Some people are amazing athletes. Some people are amazing businessmen. Some people are average accountants. Some people are quality nurses. Some people are mediocre doctors.
Don't compare yourself to anyone. But instead ask The Lord to help you find your lane. Because again it's not for you to decide how big your lane and life is. You might be an amazing construction worker, or you might be an average construction worker.
What matters is that you don’t get it all twisted up in your head and heart. Don’t balloon your importance to be bigger than your purpose. There's nothing wrong with being the average guy or gal. There's nothing wrong with doing your part and not being on the world stage.
And here's why. Yes, we easily see all the names and faces of people who reach amazing heights in their lanes. But what you might not remember is that there are literally millions of people who will either never hear of that person. Or, they will hear of that person and actively ignore them. Because they don't like their style, they don't jive with their communication or industry. Or maybe they just don't like the hairstyle of that person. Who knows, people are fickle like that. And that's where you and I come in.
You see everyone has their level of impact. And that's because The Lord needs and uses people in all sizes of impact to reach people. There could be 1000 famous people in your space, but you are the one person that is needed to help someone in particular. Or a group of someones.
So forget about comparing your life to someone else's. Instead turn around. Literally, turn your head around and look around you. You have your lane that needs your attention. Stop following that person, and start moving forward further down your lane.
Someone out there needs you, but you have to get further down in your lane to help them.
Quit stalling.
