The Absence Of Something Tells You Something

The Absence Of Something Tells You Something

This phrase is turning into one of my catch phrases, or life phrases I swear.

The absence of something tells you something

What does it mean? Well we often look at something happening and then realize it means something. But this phrase points to the alternative to that. Which is when something doesn't happen, that also means something!

For a clear example. If God chooses not to tell you to turn left, that means he's trying to tell you that left is not the way to go. The absence of him telling you "turn left" also tells you something! Left is not the way to go.

What is God not telling you to do?

  • Might be he's not opening the doors for that other job
  • Might be he's not healing your relationship
  • Might be he's not cutting ties or strings that keep you connected
  • Might be he's not telling you to have that conversation
  • Might be he's not telling you to keep silent

We ask for God to allow something often times. But do we stop and think about the fact that if he's not ending something it's because there's a purpose?
